Job summary

XKIG in the United States is seeking a Groundsperson to support the crew by performing ground-based vegetation management, brush and tree clearing, and site clean-up.This safety-sensitive role requires physical endurance and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including storm restoration tasks. Travel may be required and a valid driver’s license is necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable to drag heavy limbs and operate saws in uneven terrain.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Able to wear and use PPE as required.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License if driving.
• Able to comprehend verbal job instructions.
• Endurance to perform long shifts (8–10 hours).
• Willing to travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules on site.
• Clear debris and brush from work areas.
• Use handsaws, pole saws, pruners, and chain saws to clear brush.
• Load and unload logs and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up/break down road signs and flag traffic for safety.
• Operate trucks or other equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance and report major repairs.
• Maintain clean, orderly work areas and communicate with team.
