Job summary

Independent Tree is seeking a Groundsman to support our tree care operations. This role focuses on driving, ground-level tasks, equipment handling, and site cleanup to keep crews safe and efficient. You will assist with tree removal, pruning, and customer service on every job.

Ideal candidates love the outdoors, are motivated, and can lift up to 70 lbs. A CDL is preferred, and a DOT drug screen is required. The position supports ongoing work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Love for trees and the outdoors and the ability to work outside in varying weather.
• CDL preferred, willingness to obtain a CDL if you don’t have one.
• Must pass a DOT drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist climbers with tree removal and pruning services safely.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
• Handle tree debris, logs and small equipment like skid steers.
• Support rigging operations with ropes in tree removal work.
• Provide excellent customer service on job sites.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Groundsman to support our tree care operations. This position is crucial to the success of the crew, assisting with driving, ground-level tasks, equipment handling, and job site cleanup. This role plays a key role in ensuring safety and efficiency on every job site.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist climbers in performing all aspects of the tree removal and pruning services safely and skillfully for our clients
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including: Chainsaws, aerial lifts and more.
• Tree debris and log clean up.
• Small equipment operation - skid steer, mini skid steer, and stump grinder.
• Operating ropes in tree removal rigging operations
• Provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

What We’re Looking For:

• Love for trees and the outdoors
• CDL preferred, willingness to obtain a CDL if you don’t have one.
• Pass a DOT and drug screen required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Must be willing to work in inclement weather.
