Qualifications

• Previous experience as a groundsman for a professional tree service.
• Knowledge of chainsaw operation and brush handling.
• Experience with wood chippers, rigging equipment, and commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
• Strong safety awareness and reliability.
• Ability to lift heavy items and work with the crew.
• Punctual, independent yet team-oriented.

Position Overview

KC Tree Works LLC is seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-conscious Tree Groundsman to join our team. The ideal candidate has prior experience in the tree care industry, understands proper ground operations, and can work efficiently alongside climbers, arborists, and equipment operators. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and productive job site while delivering high-quality tree care services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist tree climbers and arborists with all aspects of tree trimming, pruning, and removal.

• Safely operate chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other tree care equipment as qualified.

• Feed brush and limbs into wood chippers while following all safety procedures.

• Manage ropes, rigging equipment, and lowering operations under the direction of the crew leader.

• Safely handle, process, and organize brush, logs, and wood debris.

• Operate commercial vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment as needed and qualified.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site throughout each project.

• Perform equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and daily cleanup.

• Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials.

• Follow company safety policies, industry best practices, and crew leader instructions.

• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently.

• Represent KC Tree Works LLC professionally when interacting with customers and the public.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a groundsman for a professional tree service is required.

• Knowledge of chainsaw operation, brush handling, and basic tree removal procedures.

• Experience with wood chippers, rigging equipment, and commercial vehicles preferred.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

• Ability to lift heavy materials, climb on and off equipment, and remain active throughout the workday.

• Strong awareness of job-site hazards and commitment to safe work practices.

• Valid driver's license required; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred.

• Reliable transportation, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
