The Washington Nationals Baseball Club is seeking Game Staff to assist with field preparation during home games. Reporting to the Director of Field Operations, Game Staff assist in all duties that directly relate to field preparation during Nationals home games; pre‑ and post‑game. This position is part‑time, requiring staff to report 2 hours prior to the game and remain up to 1 hour post‑game. Game Staff must be available for at least 50% of Nationals home games (81 games) during the season. Weather and/or non‑baseball events may offer opportunities for staff to work additional hours beyond their scheduled shift. Employees can expect to work in unpredictable and adverse weather conditions and should be aware of those dangers prior to applying. No prior experience is required. This position does not receive any company sponsored benefits. The Nationals are a military‑friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.
Game Staff employees perform most of their work outdoors in all kinds of weather. The job is not considered dangerous; however, employees working with tools and machines can be injured if they use them carelessly. Because of the physical demands of the job, candidates are expected to be able to lift, carry, and transport up to 50 pounds and have the ability to move quickly under unpredictable situations.
The projected wage rate for this position is $18.25 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
