The Washington Nationals are seeking a part-time Security & Operations Assistant to support facility operations and safety during baseball and softball events at the Youth Baseball Academy in Washington, DC. This role may include day-of-event support and some front office duties, with responsibilities for field maintenance and food access initiatives.
Licensed with Security Officer Management Branch; expected to work 25-30 hours per week as an essential employee, with pay rate around $21 per
Reporting to the Manager, Facility Operations, the Security & Operations Assistant will help with preparation for programming with baseball and softball events at the Youth Baseball Academy. Events include Base programming, Hustle baseball and softball games, community events, high school/college baseball and softball games and practices. The assistant may be expected to provide day-of event assistance for baseball and softball games as well as some front office administrative duties. The Assistant will also be responsible for general repairs, maintenance of the facility, and field turf upkeep.
The Security & Operations Assistant, licensed with the Security Officer Management Branch, will also provide a safe and pleasant environment for all visitors, guests and employees to the property. The Assistant performs protective and enforcement functions when coping with undesired behavior, disturbance, crime, threats of life and property. In all situations, the Security & Operations Assistant will perform their duties in a courteous, professional and restrained manner, through legal methods approved and in compliance with provisions of the District of Columbia Code, Sections 4-114 and 4-115 and company policies.
This is a part-time, hourly position expected to work 25-30 hours per week. This position is designated as an “essential employee” and may be required to stay beyond regular work hours and/or report in from off-duty to assist with minimum staffing coverage.

The projected wage rate for this position is $21 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
