Job summary

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course is seeking Maintenance associates for outdoor and indoor upkeep across our property in Grantville, PA. The role involves operating power equipment, performing landscaping tasks, and supporting the maintenance team to ensure a safe and clean environment for guests and staff.

Initial compensation starts at $18.00 per hour with benefits and paid time off in the Total Rewards package.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests.
  • Reading and interpreting safety rules or documents may be required.
  • Ability to perform basic math and read instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains power equipment and vehicles in a safe manner, including pickup trucks and other tools.
  • Picks up trash and empties receptacles around property, including parking areas.
  • Assists with site trash disposal and recycling programs, including maintenance of disposal areas.
  • Becomes an essential member of the casino snow removal team and must be available for ice and snow removal activities.
  • Assists with tasks related to roads or outside areas of the casino, such as installing signage and cleaning exterior surfaces.
  • Places stone and rocks in drainage areas and sets up landscape features as needed.
  • Removes dead trees and limbs, clears brush and debris as necessary.
  • Assists maintenance team inside the buildings with repairs and upkeep.
  • Performs other activities or duties as directed by management.

  • Operates and maintains power equipment and vehicles in a safe manner to include pickup trucks, street sweepers, fork lift, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, leaf blowers, power washer etc.

  • Picks up trash and empty trash receptacles around property, including parking garage.

  • Assists with site trash disposal and recycling programs, including maintenance of trash disposal areas

  • Becomes an essential member of the casino snow removal team. Must be available for ice and snow removal activities.

  • Assist tasks related to roads or outside areas of the casino as needed such as installing signage, power washing exterior of buildings, parking garage walls and floors, entrances, etc.

  • Places stone and rocks in drainage areas and set up stone landscape areas, as necessary.

  • Removes dead trees and limbs, clears brush and debris, as necessary.

  • Assists the maintenance team inside the buildings with repairs and maintenance to the casino, as necessary.

  • Assists with other activities or staff maintenance duties as directed by the management team.

  • High School Diploma/GED; or equivalent work experience that demonstrates qualities of sound judgment and dependability; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests.

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules.

  • Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from employees and guests.

  • Multilingual, preferred.

  • Must have the ability to perform basic math skills.

  • Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions (i.e., written, oral, etc.).

  • Must possess a valid driver's license. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
