Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the exterior grounds of our facility in Colorado. You will move soil, operate basic landscaping tasks, and ensure clean, well-kept outdoor areas as part of our facilities team.

Responsibilities include planting, watering, lawn care, concrete edging, and assisting with general grounds maintenance. Prior janitorial/groundskeeping experience is helpful; training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training in janitorial or groundskeeper capacity.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• The Groundskeeper digs holes for plants and trees.
• Mixes fertilizer or lime with dirt in holes to enrich soil, places plants or trees in holes, and fills holes.
• Attaches or removes wires from planted trees to stakes to support trees.
• Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances.
• Moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck; hauls or spreads topsoil.
• Waters lawns, trees, and plants.
• Spreads straw over seeded soil to prevent movement of seed and soil.
• Builds forms for concrete borders.
• Mixes and pours cement for garden borders.
• Places decorative stones and plants flowers in garden areas.
• Mows lawns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
