Job summary

Fortis Property Management in Panama City, FL is seeking a Groundskeeper/Make Ready Technician to uphold exterior spaces and assist with apartment turns. This full-time, hourly role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and emphasizes reliability, hands-on care, and customer service.

The position offers training with room to grow, salary commensurate with experience, and the chance to contribute to a well-maintained community.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License Required.
• Prior groundskeeping experience preferred.
• General maintenance skills are a plus.
• CPO license would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned grounds and maintenance tasks in an organized and timely manner.
• Monitor and maintain the grounds daily to ensure clean common areas noting needed repairs.
• Recommend necessary tools, parts, and supplies to the Maintenance Supervisor to support daily operations.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor by identifying equipment needs and recommending cost-effective supply purchases.
• Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely fashion.
• Participate in the development and implementation of an ongoing property maintenance and improvement plan.
• Assist in producing 5 day turns on vacant units.
• Perform trash-outs on vacant units.
• Knowledge of all utility cut offs.
• Daily communication with the Maintenance Supervisor to discuss progress, follow-up, or complications regarding maintenance activities.
• Provide superior customer service
• Other duties as delegated

Position Overview:

The Groundskeeper enhances our apartment community’s curb appeal by ensuring all outdoor spaces and amenity areas remain clean, welcoming, and beautifully maintained.

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking individual who is eager to learn and ready to assist with groundskeeping, apartment turns, basic maintenance, and general property upkeep. While prior maintenance experience is a plus, it is not required—we are happy to train the right person.

• Maintain a professional image and attitude
• Attend instructional training classes as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor
• Adherence to and proper implementation of all Fortis Properties Management policies and procedures

Knowledge of and adherence to the following:

• Fair Housing policies and procedures
• ADA policies and procedures

Supervision Received:

The Groundskeeper will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Community Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License Required

Experience

• Prior groundskeeping experience preferred.
