The Gardens Assisted Living in Fairfax, VA seeks a Groundskeeper/Maintenance to maintain lawns, gardens, parking areas, and walkways. The role supports cross-departmental tasks and may assist in other activities as needed by department heads.

Responsibilities include mowing, planting, debris removal, equipment operation, and seasonal tasks with emphasis on safety and reliability. Valid VA driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance preferred.
• Ability to operate landscaping tools and machinery safely.
• Knowledge of plant care and lawn maintenance.
• Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Valid VA Driver’s License.

Responsabilités

• Mow, trim, and edge lawns to maintain a neat appearance.
• Plant, water, fertilize, and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Remove weeds, debris, and litter from grounds and walkways.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
• Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, snow removal, and maintenance.
• Monitor grounds for pests, diseases, or damage and report issues.
• Maintain parking areas, sidewalks, and outdoor facilities in clean and safe condition.
• Assist with minor repairs and general outdoor maintenance.
• Ensure safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
• Inspect equipment and tools for safety before use; report malfunctioning equipment immediately.
• Keep work areas clean and safe- do not leave hazardous materials or tools unattended.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Administrator.
