Grounds Maintenance Laborer - Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA

EMI is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Laborer to maintain the grounds of industrial, commercial, or public properties such as buildings, camps, picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and athletic fields. The role involves occasional repairs to structures and equipment, assisting with project clean-up, and debris removal. The ideal candidate is experienced with groundskeeping/landscaping tools and equipment and adheres to all health and safety standards.

Salary: $17.95/hr. plus $4.57 fringe benefits for insurance and 401k.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut grass, trim hedges, and edge using walk or riding mowers (less than 2,000 lbs.)
• Plant, prune, and water grass, flowers, shrubs, and trees
• Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings
• Assist with road, walk, and building repairs
• Clean grounds, comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots; pick up or cart away leaves, paper, or other litter
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Essential Skills:

• Knowledge of all trade tools and equipment, with the ability to select proper tools
• Ability to perform complex and unusual tasks independently
• Adherence to safety rules and policies
• Work efficiently under extreme conditions

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent technical training and experience
• Valid driver's license
• Dependable attendance
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
• U.S. citizenship for access to military installations

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted

Preferred Qualifications:

• Class B Commercial Driver's License
