Job summary

The State of Ohio is seeking a Groundskeeper 2 for the Office of General Services, located at Fountain Square main campus in Franklin County, Columbus. This full-time role includes duties such as trash removal, moving furniture, operating a skid steer, landscaping, and snow removal.

Starting pay is $21.485 per hour with upcoming increases to $23.65 per hour over 3.5 years; COLA may apply. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with occasional changes.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division; 6 months' training or 6 months' experience in grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Pick up trash daily around the Fountain Square Complex.
• Move office furniture within and between the several buildings located on the Fountain Square Complex.
• Operate a skid steer at Fountain Square Complex and State Fairgrounds.
• Water and maintain flowerbeds at the State Fairgrounds and Fountain Square Complex.
• Perform snow removal (e.g., remove snow with a pickup truck and plow, shovel around doorways, spread salt).
• Minor equipment repair
