Job summary

The Groundskeeper II role with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission supports our mission to help Texans achieve wellness and independence. You will maintain the grounds of the state’s facilities, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, planting trees and shrubs, and ensuring safe, clean outdoor spaces for residents and staff.

This position requires prior groundskeeping experience, a valid Texas driver’s license, the ability to lift 50–100 lbs, and flexibility to work weekends or after-hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping work.
• Must possess valid Texas driver’s license.
• Pesticide/herbicide licenses preferred.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs.
• Able to work weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Mows, trims, fertilizes, plants trees and shrubs.
• Operates lawn care tools and tractors.
• Maintains grounds, sidewalks, and parking areas.
• Trains and leads others.
• Responds to emergency/COOP tasks as needed.
