Westminster Christian Academy is seeking a full-time Groundskeeper II to join our Facilities team. Founded in 1976, the school provides a college preparatory program for 950 students in grades 7-12 on a 70-acre campus in suburban St. Louis County, Missouri.

The Groundskeeper II role is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, and paid time off. The pay rate is up to $20 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• A personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Membership or regular attendance at an approved Protestant church.
• An associate’s degree or technical certificate in Horticulture, Biology, or Plant Science is helpful but not required.
• At least 3 years of experience in the green industry.
• A Non-Commercial Applicators License is advantageous but not required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Google applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for trees, shrubs, flower beds, and landscaped areas.
• Mow the property, including athletic fields and non-athletic areas.
• Assist with snow and ice removal.
• Prepare athletic fields for events, including striping and grooming.
• Maintain the irrigation system.
• Remove outdoor trash.
• Maintain grounds equipment.
• Supervise the Grounds Department in the absence of the Lead Groundskeeper.
• Assist with setup activities for events (chapel, graduation, conferences).
• Help park cars during large school events.

Physical Demands

• Constant movement around campus.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, lift up to 80 pounds.
• Operate tools and grounds equipment safely.
• Drive trucks and pull trailers.
• Operate snow removal equipment.
• Use office equipment and perform computer work.
• Good perception and coordination skills.
