Job summary

The University of Iowa Landscape Services seeks a Groundskeeper I to maintain campus grounds and support Groundskeeper II. The role requires basic groundskeeping knowledge and the ability to operate tools and equipment, with winter snow/ice removal duties on occasion.

Primary tasks include maintaining areas per the plan, assisting other crews, and performing basic equipment maintenance. A valid driver's license and UI Fleet Safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating groundskeeping machinery or any combination of related experience/education totaling one year.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain UI Fleet Safety standards.
• Desirable CDL with Air Brakes and experience with snow/ice removal equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas per Landscape Services Management Plan.
• Perform snow removal using designated equipment for campus routes.
• Operate utility vehicles, mowers, skid loaders, tractors and attachments as needed.
• May coordinate and review work of other groundskeeping personnel with supervisor.
• Perform minor repairs and service on equipment.
