Job summary

The City of Irving is seeking a Grounds Maintenance worker to care for city property, parks and fields, and to perform upkeep tasks in beautification areas. Responsibilities include mowing, edging, flower bed and turf maintenance, athletic field prep, restroom cleaning, litter removal, basic repairs of park structures, and irrigation/chemical application assistance.

Qualifications include six months of related experience, ability to read and write at a functional level, and a valid Class C Texas

Job description

This position is responsible for maintaining city property grounds, parks and fields, and performing tasks in maintenance and upkeep of city parks and beautification areas. Required duties include mowing, edging, flower bed maintenance, turf maintenance, athletic field preparation, restroom cleaning, litter removal, basic repairs of park structures, and assistance with irrigation system maintenance and chemical application.

Qualifications: Six months of related experience; ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance; possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C Texas driver’s license. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is beneficial.

Schedule: Normal hours Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; schedule may also include some holiday and weekend hours. Potential for some overtime.

PAY GRADE GG10 / FULL PAY RANGE $17.86 - $25.18 PER HOUR
