Clovis Community College - Clovis, NM is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to perform mowing, irrigation, planting, and related landscape tasks to support campus operations.
The role offers a 40-hour work week from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends. A valid driver’s license and at least one year of maintenance experience are required.

Building and Facilities
Under general supervision, perform grounds maintenance functions including water, raking, and mowing. Assist with landscaping, repair and maintenance of small equipment, sprinkler, and water lines.
Operating of equipment such as: Lawn mowers, spreaders, aerators, bobcat, tractors, etc.
Mow grass and edge sidewalks and around trees and shrubs.
Keep sidewalks and parking lot free of debris and empty the parking lot trash cans.
Plant and trim trees, bushes and flowers. Fertilize grass, trees and shrubs. Shred grass and weeds in fields. Remove dead trees, shrubs and flowers. Clean beds and rock gardens of debris and weeds.
Assist with irrigation monitoring, inspection, installation, and repairs as needed.
Repair, replace and remove automatic and manual valves, sprinkler heads, PVC pipe, drip systems, vacuum breakers, and sprinkler head components.
Repair and replace equipment, oil filters, blades, air filters and miscellaneous parts on lawn equipment and tractors.
Remove snow and apply ice melt.
Read landscaping and irrigation blueprints.
Replace road signs.
Ability to work independently and in coordination with others.
Perform repetitive task on a day-to-day basis.
Complete assigned work orders as directed.

Ability to carry out the mission and vision of the campus.
Position requires frequent to continuous standing, kneeling, climbing, and moving in the shop and the campus. Working around and with machinery having moving parts. Exposure to chemicals used in the control of pests and weed control. Loud noises from equipment operation. Occasional pushing and pulling of up to 100 lbs. Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Must be available to work 40 hrs. per week with normal work hours from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

Minimum one year experience in maintenance and repair of Rainbird, or similar, sprinkler systems.
Knowledge on mowing/ landscaping using industrial equipment.
Candidate must be able to pass a hands-on assessment.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
