Job summary

North Way Christian Community is seeking a full-time Facilities Central Support – Groundskeeper (40 hours/week) to care for external grounds and support multiple sites. The role focuses on safe operation of grounds equipment, teamwork, and maintaining a welcoming environment for ministry outreach.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and experience in landscaping, with the ability to supervise volunteers and coordinate tasks across locations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

North Way Christian Community is seeking a full-time Facilities Central Support – Groundskeeper (40 hours/week) for our multi-site church. This position serves on the Facilities Team and assists, at all locations, with keeping and maintaining the church facilities in a clean, orderly, and proper working condition with a focus on the external grounds while ensuring an environment that empowers and encourages ministry to expand God’s Kingdom and presents North Way in a positive light to our surrounding community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Fundamental qualifications for all applicants include a growing relationship with God, a desire to impact the world with the love and message of Jesus Christ, a discerned calling into this position, and the willingness to regularly attend and participate in North Way worship services and ministry activities. The additional qualifications for this position include:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 5 years of landscaping and exterior grounds maintenance experience preferred

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing/supervising church facilities support volunteers in a small group format

• Demonstrated experience and ability to operate the following equipment safely and properly: lawn tractors and mowers, weed eater, skid steer, 1-ton dump truck, pressure washer, hedge trimmers, scissor lift, snowplow, salt spreader and other grounds maintenance equipment

• Ability to work independently, as well as with a team

• Ability to properly organize and perform work assignments

• Relates well to all people, including North Way staff, attendees, guests, and users of facilities

• Maintains professional and hygienic appearance

• Must be comfortable using a computer, radio, and mobile phone and applications, and familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office-based products

• Willing to work evenings and weekends if needed

• Background clearances must be current
