Job description

The U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) is a 34,000-acre facility near Clay Center, NE. All work performed at USMARC supports research focused on solving high-priority problems for the U.S. beef, sheep, and swine industries.

As The Groundskeeper, You Will

1. Maintain company property and surrounding areas.
2. Cut grass, trim, rake leaves, and clean areas.
3. Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs, along with pruning trees and shrubs, using gardening tools.
4. Water lawns and shrubs, using hoses or by activating fixed or portable sprinkler systems.
5. Spray lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides, using hand or automatic sprayers.
6. Maintain driveways, parking lots, and walkways by removing debris, litter, snow, and ice.
7. Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
8. Perform basic maintenance on equipment used.
9. Perform routine, repetitive tasks using standard procedures, tools, materials, equipment, or machinery.
10. Assist the maintenance department as needed.

Position requires the ability to read and follow directions, operate industrial lawn equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
