Job description

Note:

Job Details:

Schedule: Saturday - Monday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm

Starting Pay: $18.05/hr (pay depends on experience)

Shift Differential: $2.00/hr

Summary:

This position is responsible for operating rolling stock, general building equipment maintenance including snow removal in winter, and acting as backup for wastewater treatment and sanitation positions as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance of the building, forklifts, pallet jacks, vehicles, and other equipment.
  • Maintain company grounds, including snow/ice removal and lawn work.
  • Operate and maintain all company rolling stock safely.
  • Replace facility light bulbs and repair plumbing as needed.
  • Serve as backup Waste Water Treatment Plant operator and Sanitation Operator.
  • Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of various facility areas.
  • Assist with roof repairs and cleanup.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform duties efficiently and safely.
  • Experience operating all rolling stock.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Mechanical background and knowledge of vehicle maintenance preferred.
  • Basic plumbing and lighting knowledge.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain forklift, skid loader, and pallet jack licenses.
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergencies.
Physical Requirements and Environment:
  • Stand/walk continuously for at least 8 hours.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Lift/carry 1-10 lbs frequently, up to 35-50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs with assistance rarely.
  • Work around machinery, in varying temperatures, dust, fumes, and at heights, with exposure to strong chicken odors.
Rehiring Criteria:

Applicants must not have worked for Tyson more than three times and must have completed at least 90 days since last employment.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 6 months' work experience required. Facility, maintenance, or automotive mechanic experience preferred and should be documented in the application.
