Job summary

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races is seeking a Grounds Maintenance team member to care for outdoor spaces around the racetrack and facilities. You will operate mowers, edgers, and trimmers to keep the grounds neat and safe.

This role requires 18+, a valid driver's license, and at least one year of maintenance experience; OSHA certification is preferred. You must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and meet WV Racing Commission licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver's license; will be subject to annual DMV background checks.
• Must have 1 year maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret English safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
• Must qualify for a West Virginia State Racing Commission License and pass background checks.
• OSHA certification on machinery used by Track Maintenance is required.
• Able to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Work in a environment with fumes, noise, and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawn and/or grass using mowers, edgers, and trimmers.
• Rake and maintain leaves, plants, flowers, trees, or shrubs.
• Clean up trash in parking lots/garages and exterior grounds.
• Empty and clean trash containers.
• Assist in snow removal and cleanup.
• Assist in overall maintenance of grounds with equipment such as power washers, sweeper truck, lawn mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, edgers, etc.
• Fasten attachments to tractors and operate equipment.
• Report problems with machinery to Motor Pool.
• Assist all areas of the department when needed.
• Assist with transportation of disabled horses.
• Raking material around the racing surface.
