Job summary

Milhaus, a leading developer and manager of multifamily properties, is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain outdoor areas at one of our Pittsburgh properties. This role emphasizes timely grounds care, cleanups, and collaboration with the maintenance team to ensure curb appeal and resident satisfaction.

The Groundskeeper will perform outdoor maintenance, operate lawn equipment, and support make-ready efforts while working in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Requires basic English proficiency for written and verbal communication.
• Driver’s license is preferred for vehicle operation.
• Demonstrates physical stamina to perform outdoor groundskeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Polices grounds daily and as needed.
• Completes grounds work as required.
• Plants, prunes, weeds, seeds, or removes foliage and grasses.
• Assist in make-ready of market-ready units by removing trash from vacant apartments.
• Assist maintenance with snow removal when applicable.
• Operates mechanical or electrical garden tools.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Summary

The Groundskeeper maintains the grounds of the property and works towards the common goals of satisfactory cash flow, positive resident relations and optimal resident retention. The Groundskeeper will also regularly communicate with all necessary Company employees, outside vendors and other individuals as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Key Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Polices grounds as first task daily and throughout day, as needed
• Completes grounds work as needed
• Plants, prunes, weeds, seeds or removes foliage, shrubs, trees or grasses or other grounds work
• Assist in the preparation of market ready units, including remove trash from vacant apartments (trash outs) prior to make-ready.
• Assist maintenance team with snow removal (If applicable).
• Operates various mechanical or electrical equipment or garden tools
• Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• English proficiency – both written and verbal
• Valid Driver’s License preferred
• Knowledge of Equal Housing Opportunity (EHO) requirements and applicable program regulations
• Ability to operate a two-axle motor vehicle
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate all necessary tools to perform the essential functions of the position
• Experience and working knowledge of OSHA and other environmental safety standards
• Ability to perform a variety of duties in all types of weather
