Job summary

LeTourneau University is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus grounds, including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and weed control. You will operate standard grounds equipment under the supervision of the Grounds Coordinator and perform related tasks to keep outdoor spaces well-kept.

This role requires physical stamina, a Texas driver license with a clean driving record, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Grounds experience preferred.
• Applicants must be age 18 or older.
• Texas Driver License with acceptable driving record required.
• Work is physically demanding and may require exposure to various weather extremes.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine groundskeeping tasks including mowing, trimming, blowing, pruning, planting trees and shrubs, weed control, and bed preparation.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment and tools.
• Follow safety procedures and use chemicals as trained.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Coordinator or Lead Groundskeeper.

Job description

Hours are primarily Monday through Friday, but responsibilities may occasionally require additional hours and flexibility that can include weekends.

Position Description

• Limited supervisory responsibilities. Duties will be assigned by the Grounds Coordinator or the Lead Groundskeeper and will include the following.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs of grounds equipment.
• Perform a variety of routine groundskeeping tasks including, but not limited to, hand mowing, string trimming, blowing, tractor mowing, riding mower mowing, pruning, plant bed preparation, planting of trees, shrubs, and other plants, manual weed control, digging, and raking.
• Physical motions include but are not limited to the following: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, bending, squatting, going up and downstairs, continuous standing and walking, and any combination of the preceding.
• Proper usage of LeTourneau University supplied chemicals.
• Proper usage of safety equipment supplied by LeTourneau University.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
