Job summary

Coastal Ridge Real Estate invites applications for a Groundskeeper at University Edge Youngstown in Youngstown, Ohio. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Property Manager and focuses on maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming outdoor spaces for residents.

You will care for plants, assist with pool maintenance, support unit turnover, and help with light maintenance. A high school diploma and basic English/computer skills are required, with reliable transportation for on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic English communication skills to follow instructions and interact with residents and team members.
• Basic computer skills for completing work orders or other property tasks.
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, general maintenance, or housekeeping is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Keep interior and exterior areas clean, safe, and presentable at all times, including buildings, common areas, amenities, and grounds.
• Care for plants, shrubs, and flowers by watering and ensuring health.
• Assist with swimming pool cleaning and maintenance to ensure safety standards.
• Support unit turnover processes, including trashing out vacant units and coordinating with vendors.
• Provide friendly and professional service to residents, including newsletters and correspondence.
• Inspect the property daily to identify hazards or liability concerns.
• Use property resources, equipment, and supplies efficiently and safely.
• Assist with light maintenance duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

As a Groundskeeper, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the appearance and physical condition of our community, creating a safe, welcoming, and visually appealing environment for our residents. This full-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the Property Manager.

University Edge Youngstown offers off-campus student housing conveniently located in Youngstown, Ohio. What You’ll Own:

• Keep all interior and exterior areas clean, safe, and presentable at all times, including buildings, common areas, amenities, and grounds. Tasks include picking up litter, sweeping, blowing, or pressure-washing breezeways, parking lots, and other shared spaces.
• Care for plants, shrubs, and flowers by watering and ensuring their healthy appearance.
• Assist with swimming pool cleaning and maintenance to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Support unit turnover processes, including trashing out vacant units and collaborating with vendors to maintain quality standards.
• Provide friendly and professional service to current, future, and past residents, including delivering and posting newsletters and correspondence.
• Inspect the property daily to identify and address hazardous conditions or liability concerns.
• Use property resources, equipment, and supplies efficiently and safely.
• Assist with light maintenance duties as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

What You’ll Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic English communication skills to follow instructions and interact with residents and team members.
• Basic computer skills for completing work orders or other property tasks.
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, general maintenance, or housekeeping is preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to frequently walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move loads up to 50 lbs, as well as climb and work from ladders.
• Must live within 30 miles of the property and have reliable transportation to participate in on-call duties.
