Job summary

Charleston Peak Winery is seeking an entry-level Groundskeeper to support the vineyard rows, estate grounds, and facilities under the Vineyard Manager and crew leadership. No prior vineyard or landscaping experience is required; training is provided on the job.

You will assist with basic vineyard upkeep, irrigation checks, general facilities upkeep, harvest season labor, and safety while working outdoors with a positive, professional team.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and take direction from crew leads.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Comfortable with physical labor including lifting, bending, kneeling and walking for extended periods.

• Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during harvest season.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic vineyard upkeep, including weeding, mowing and debris removal.
• Help maintain trellises, posts and wires under supervision of senior crew members.
• Water plants, assist irrigation checks and keep walkways and guest spaces tidy.
• Assist with general facilities upkeep, light repairs, trash removal and equipment cleaning.
• Load, unload and move materials, tools and supplies; communicate maintenance needs.
• Support harvest season activities and adapt to seasonal workload changes.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a cooperative, professional team environment.

Introduction

The Groundskeeper is an entry-level member of the Groundskeeping & Facilities Crew, supporting the day-to-day upkeep of Charleston Peak Winery's vineyard rows, estate grounds, and facilities. This position works under the direction of the Vineyard Manager and designated crew leadership. No prior vineyard or landscaping experience is required; training is provided on the job.

Specific Duties

Vineyard & Grounds Maintenance

• Assist with basic vineyard upkeep, including weeding, mowing, and clearing debris from rows.
• Help maintain trellises, posts, and wires under the direction of senior crew members.
• Water plants and landscaping, and assist with irrigation checks.
• Keep walkways, parking areas, and guest spaces clean and tidy.

Facilities Support

• Assist with general facilities upkeep, including light repairs, trash removal, pressure washing, and equipment cleaning.
• Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and supplies as needed.
• Communicate equipment issues or maintenance needs to crew leadership.

Harvest & Seasonal Support

• Support harvest season activities, including hand-picking and general labor.
• Adapt to changes in seasonal workload and business needs.

Safety & Teamwork

• Follow all safety guidelines when using tools, equipment, and chemicals.
• Support other crew members as needed and maintain a positive, professional, team-oriented attitude.
• Participate in crew meetings and training as requested.
