Legacy at Lake Charles, located in Lake Charles, LA, is hiring a Groundskeeper to maintain the exterior areas of our apartment community. As part of Hawthorne Residential Partners, you will keep sidewalks, landscaping, and common spaces clean and welcoming, while supporting the maintenance team.

Qualifications

High School or GED equivalent.
One year of maintenance, repair, or HVAC experience is preferred but not required.
Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Maintain exterior areas and sidewalks, landscaping, and common spaces to keep the property clean and welcoming.
Assist with light landscaping tasks such as raking, weeding, trimming, and watering.
Ensure trash receptacles and common areas are well-maintained and free of debris.
Assist with preparation of vacant apartments with light cleaning as needed.

Groundskeeper | Job Overview

Groundskeepers play a vital role in creating an exceptional apartment community. Groundskeeper| Education, Experience, and License Qualifications

Education:

High School or GED equivalent

Experience:

Understanding and knowledge of yardwork and general facility maintenance
One year of maintenance, repair, or HVAC experience is preferred but notrequired

Groundskeeper | Job Functions

Conduct thorough cleaning and pick-up of debris or trash throughout exterior areas of the property.
Maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, breezeways, parking lots, green spaces, and community signage areas.
Ensure community trash receptacles,compactorareas, and pet stations are well‑maintained and free of debris orlarge itemsaround the perimeter.
Assistwith light landscaping tasks including raking, weeding, trimming, and watering as directed by the maintenance team.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of pool deck areas, courtyards, grilling stations, benches, and outdoor amenities.

Community Appearance Support

Assistthe maintenance team with light painting of curbs, signposts, and exterior touch‑ups as needed.
Conduct light checks around the property and replace breezeway or exterior bulbs as needed.
Helpmaintainshop and storage areas in a clean and organized manner to support quick inventory assessment.
Assistwith preparation of vacant, unoccupied apartments with light cleaning or removal of debris as requested

Additional Responsibilities

Assistthe team with the distribution of communications to residents’ doors.
Assistthe maintenance team with seasonal tasks including storm/snowpreparation or cleanup.
Promotegood professionalrelations with residents, co-workers, and company staff. Through the LIVE IT culture,alwaysdisplay a friendly and courteous attitude toward prospects, residents, vendors, and other employees. Alwaysmaintainprofessionalism.

Work Schedule & Availability

Groundskeeperswork Monday through Friday, with standard office hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role may also require participation in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergencies and occasional support for resident events, as needed.
