Job summary

Katy ISD is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain district grounds and athletic fields. The role reports to the Grounds Crew Chief, is non-exempt and spans 260 duty days per year. A Texas Operator’s License, ability to read/write/speak English, and the ability to lift 50 pounds are required.

The position involves operating equipment, carrying gear for extended periods, and addressing hazards on campus grounds under supervision. Starting date is immediate.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Texas Operator’s License.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English (Preferred).
• Physically able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• May be assigned to regular grounds crew or athletic grounds crew.
• Operate power driven grounds maintenance equipment.
• Must be able to carry grounds maintenance equipment for eight hours.
• Perform duties with hand tools for grounds maintenance.
• Advise Grounds Crew Chief of any hazardous situations they notice on school grounds.
• Remove hazardous objects from grounds such as broken glass.
