University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Grounds Maintenance position within the Department Physical Facilities, Grounds. The role focuses on turf, landscape, and irrigation upkeep, litter control, and event setup. You will assist with campus utility work and emergency response as required.
The position reports to supervision and includes routine tasks such as mowing, bed maintenance, and equipment upkeep, with duties adjusted by the supervisor.
General Description / Primary Purpose: This is work performing grounds maintenance and landscape installation duties including but not restricted to maintenance of turf, landscape, and irrigation; litter control; and set up for special events. Specific duties will be determined by the supervisor.
This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.
Close supervision. The incumbent's work is reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and to ensure instructions are being followed.
Completion of ninth (9th) grade or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Some positions may require possession of a classified driver’s license appropriate to a type of vehicle operated.
This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check. The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee” pursuant to their role under Title IX. Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.
