Job summary

Presbyterian Villages of Michigan is seeking a groundskeeper to maintain and beautify outdoor spaces. The role involves mowing, trimming, planting, watering and general grounds maintenance in an outdoor setting.

The position requires a GED or high school diploma, ability to operate a computer, and physical stamina to perform lifting up to 50 lbs. Prior experience is not required and safety procedures must be followed. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for training.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, planters and grounds features.
• Care for lawns: mulching, pruning, trimming, edging around flower beds and paths.
• Water, fertilize, weed, and spray as needed.
• Shovel snow and spread salt in winter conditions.
• Clean gutters and remove litter; rake, mulch and compost leaves.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, trees or shrubs and apply mulch for protection.
• Perform routine maintenance and participate in training and safety meetings.

Overview

Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workerstypically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following:mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking and pulling weeds

Responsibilities

Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, or other groundsfeatures.2. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, or trimming or edging aroundflower beds, walks, or walls.3. Water lawns, trees, or plants, using hoses or watering cans.4. Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.5. Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, ortrees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.6. Shovel snow from walks, driveways or parking lots using shovels, snow blowers, orsnow blade equipped vehicles and spread salt in those areas.7. Gather and remove litter.8. Clean gutters and down spouts.9. Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds.10. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves.11. Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs andapply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.12. Haul or spread topsoil or spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place.13. Perform minor maintenance duties.14. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order tokeep informed on current information and skill development.15.
