Job summary

The Dolben Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time Groundskeeper for a vibrant 240-apartment community in California, MD. You will maintain exterior areas and keep common outdoor spaces clean, safe, and presentable year-round.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of groundskeeping experience, knowledge of lawn care, and can operate mowers, trimmers, and related equipment. You must lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in all weather, and communicate well with the team.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lawn care and seasonal maintenance.
• Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment safely.
• Availability for emergencies at the property, including snow removal.
• Reliable transportation to get to work and to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Basic understanding of grounds safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, and trim lawns on a regular schedule.
• Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and landscaping features.
• Weed, rake leaves, and remove debris.
• Water grounds and plants as needed.
• Trash pickup around exterior of property daily.
• Sweep sidewalks, curbs, and common outdoor areas.
• Clean and maintain pool area.
• Check and remove bandit signs daily.
• Shovel snow and assist with snow removal as needed.
• Power wash building exteriors, sidewalks, and patios seasonally.
• Perform minor repairs to fencing, gates, and outdoor fixtures.
• Monitor and maintain outdoor lighting.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
• Assist maintenance staff with various projects as requested.
• Report safety hazards or maintenance issues to Property Manager.

FULL-TIME GROUNDSKEEPER

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the exterior appearance and cleanliness of this high energy community with 240 apartment homes in California, MD. You will ensure the grounds and common outdoor areas are well‑maintained, safe, and presentable at all times.

As a Groundskeeper, your primary responsibilities include:

• Mow, edge, and trim lawns on a regular schedule
• Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and landscaping features
• Pulling weeds, raking leaves, and debris removal
• Watering grounds and plants as needed
• Trash pick‑up around exterior of property daily
• Sweeping sidewalks, curbs, and common outdoor areas
• Clean and maintain pool area
• Check and remove bandit signs daily
• Shovel snow and assist with snow removal as needed
• Power wash building exteriors, sidewalks, and patios seasonally
• Perform minor repairs to fencing, gates, and outdoor fixtures
