Job summary

The Dolben Company is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the exterior appearance and cleanliness of a 240-unit community in California, MD. You will ensure lawns, landscaping, and outdoor areas are well-kept, safe, and presentable at all times.

Responsibilities include mowing, edging, weed control, irrigation, debris removal, power washing, and occasional small repairs. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience, can operate equipment safely, and can respond to emergencies, including snow

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of groundskeeping or landscaping experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lawn care, landscaping, and seasonal maintenance.
• Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment safely.
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including snow removal.
• Personal, reliable transportation to get to work and to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Basic understanding of grounds safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, and trim lawns on a regular schedule.
• Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and landscaping features.
• Pull weeds, rake leaves, and debris removal.
• Water grounds and plants as needed.
• Trash pickup around exterior of property daily.
• Sweep sidewalks, curbs, and common outdoor areas.
• Clean and maintain pool area.
• Check and remove bandit signs daily.
• Shovel snow and assist with snow removal as needed.
• Power wash building exteriors, sidewalks, and patios seasonally.
• Perform minor repairs to fencing, gates, and outdoor fixtures.
• Monitor and maintain outdoor lighting.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
• Assist maintenance staff with various projects as requested.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to Property Manager
