Job Summary

The Groundskeeper maintains State Farm Arena's outdoor and indoor grounds, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and functional for events, athletes, and guests. This includes routine landscaping, turf maintenance, equipment operation, and general upkeep to support arena operations and enhance the fan experience.

Key Responsibilities

General Facility Upkeep

• Monitor grounds and facilities daily for cleanliness and issues.
• Sweep, clean, and maintain walkways and parking lots.
• Maintain all equipment.
• Coordinate snow removal, salting, or de-icing during bad weather to ensure safety.
• Maintain city relationships.
• Report maintenance issues promptly.

Landscaping

• Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscaping features.
• Remove weeds and debris for a polished appearance.
• Operate tools like hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and mowers.
• Manage third-party landscaping contracts.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow safety protocols when operating equipment.
• Maintain groundskeeping equipment and report issues.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and workplace regulations.
• Handle sharps and biohazardous waste safely.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality grounds.
• Ability to operate landscaping and grounds equipment safely.
• Basic pest control knowledge.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping or housekeeping preferred.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor environment.
• Full-time hours with flexibility for outside regular hours.
