Job summary

Crestline Hotels & Resorts is hiring a Groundskeeper to maintain our exterior grounds, gardens, and outdoor areas. You will work with the Engineering/Facilities team to keep the property safe, clean, and welcoming year-round.

Responsibilities include mowing, pruning, irrigation oversight, and seasonal setup/breakdown for events. A high school diploma and prior groundskeeping or maintenance experience are preferred, with hospitality experience considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Prior groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in hotel or hospitality setting is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of plant care and irrigation systems.

Job description

Job Overview

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of the hotel's exterior grounds, gardens, and outdoor common areas to ensure a welcoming first impression for guests. This role performs a variety of landscaping, grounds maintenance, and light outdoor repair tasks, working closely with the Engineering/Facilities team to keep the property's exterior in excellent condition year-round.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns, hedges, and shrubs on a regular schedule


• Plant, water, fertilize, and prune flowers, trees, and landscaping beds


• Remove weeds, debris, litter, and leaves from grounds, walkways, and parking areas


• Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, reporting malfunctions promptly


• Clear seasonal hazards from walkways, entrances, and parking lots


• Maintain outdoor furniture, signage, fountains, and pool decking areas as applicable


• Operate and maintain grounds equipment (mowers, blowers, trimmers, etc.) safely and report needed repairs


• Assist with setup and breakdown of outdoor events as needed


• Conduct routine walk-throughs to identify and address safety hazards or maintenance needs


• Support general property upkeep in coordination with the Engineering/Maintenance team


• Follow all safety protocols when handling equipment, chemicals, and fertilizers

Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions


• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks


• Comfortable operating landscaping equipment and power tools


• Strong attention to detail and pride in property appearance


• Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays


• Valid driver's license may be required


• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• Prior groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance experience preferred


• Experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is a plus


• Basic knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, and lawn equipment maintenance preferred
