Job summary

The Long Bay Resort in Myrtle Beach is seeking a groundskeeper to maintain and beautify the resort grounds. You will perform landscaping, clean walkways, and assist with maintenance projects to ensure a welcoming environment for guests.

Responsibilities include watering plants, weeding, mulching, and reporting issues to the Chief Engineer. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, standing long hours, and collaborating with team members to deliver top-notch guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds daily, ensuring landscaping, parking, and walkways are clean and attractive.
• Keeps storage areas and mechanical spaces clean, reporting actions to Chief Engineer as needed.
• Responds to guest reports and informs front desk/Chief Engineer when action is complete.
• Cleans resort grounds and removes litter daily; maintains plant life.
• Watering and caring for plants and flowers on resort grounds.
• Weeding, mulching, and tree trimming as directed; uses tools as needed.
• Maintains groundskeeping supplies inventory and safety.

Overview

Groundskeepers provide a welcoming environment for our guests by maintaining the cleanliness of resort grounds, performing landscaping duties, and working on various maintenance and grounds projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the grounds daily, including keeping landscaping, parking, walkways, and other areas on resort grounds clean, safe, and attractive
• Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, and secure manner, reporting to the Chief Engineer any corrective actions that need to be taken
• Promptly respond to reports of guest problems or concerns and informs the front desk/Chief Engineer when action is complete
• Responsible for clearing all trash, weeds, brush and debris from the resort grounds
• Responsible for watering all plants and flowers located on resort grounds
• Responsible for weeding, mulching and tree trimming whenever necessary or as directed (This will require the use of equipment such as sheers, blade saw and other gardening tools.)
• Responsible for the maintenance of plant life throughout the resort
• Cleans resort grounds and removes litter and trash on a daily and consistent basis
• Responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all grounds keeping supplies used as part of the groundskeeper role and ensures they are safe and in good working conditions
• Sweeps or blows all resort roadside entrances, walkways and resort back areas
• Performs daily walk-through of the resort grounds and identifies, reports as well as addresses areas with immediate grounds keeping needs
• Keeps Chief Engineer promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance so that prompt corrective action can be taken
• Performs job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guests
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality business, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and holidays
• Valid Driver's License preferred
• Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and stand for long periods of time
• Passion for providing exceptional service to guests and team members
• Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail

• Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers and supervisors
