Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the estate landscape, safety, cleanliness, and beauty in assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and planters. Compensation ranges from $30.00 to $36.00 per hour.

The role includes mowing, pruning, irrigation maintenance, minor repairs, and leading a small project team. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with six months related experience or training.

Qualifications

  • Education or experience: High school diploma / GED preferred.
  • Six months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of PPE.
  • Communicate with management and co-workers on plant care and/or selection.
  • Provide information about landscaping services and/or costs.
  • Lead a small team through short term projects.
  • Mow or edge lawns using power mowers or edger.
  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges.
  • Fell large trees.
  • Make minor repairs to fences, gates, roadways, pathways, or walls.
  • Operate and maintain grounds equipment (hedge trimmers, chainsaws, clippers, sod cutters, mowers, tractors, UTVs, ATVs, trucks, pruning saws).
  • Maintain irrigation system and install irrigation materials as necessary.
  • Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems.
  • Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, trees, shrubs and apply mulch.
  • Apply fertilizer, compost, mulch and other amendments.
  • Gather, remove, and dispose of green-waste and/or trash materials.
  • Respond to trouble calls.
  • Assist house crew preparing amenities (boat prep, kayaks, paddleboards, ATVs).

Job Overview The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the estate landscape safety, cleanliness, and beauty, specifically in assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, nursery, or other grounds features.

  • Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment. Stops at risk behaviors of others and self

  • Communicate with management and co-workers advise on plant care and/or selection

  • Provide information about landscaping services and/or costs

  • Comfortable leading a small team through short term projects

  • Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger

  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment

  • Fell large trees

  • Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, roadways, pathways, or walls

  • Operate and perform regular maintenance/minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as hedge trimmers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, line trimmers, mowers, tractors, UTVs, ATVs, trucks, or pruning saws

Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma / GED – preferred Six months related experience and/or training – preferred


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certifications.
