University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking a Grounds Worker in the Landscape Services Department to perform semi-skilled grounds management on the Main UNCW Campus. Daily duties include edging, pruning, mowing, new landscaping, and irrigation repair, plus general upkeep of university grounds, housing areas, parking lots, and trash pickup.
The position requires ability to operate landscape equipment, valid NC driver's license, and the physical capability for medium to heavy work.

The Grounds Worker of the Landscape Services Department performssemi-skilled grounds management. Daily duties include performingvarious functions such as edging, pruning, mowing, new landscapingand irrigation repair. The general manicuring of all Universityproperties, housing areas, parking lot maintenance, trash pick-up,and other associated duties as determined by supervisor oradministration. This position may install equipment related tolandscape functions, may operate backhoe, sprayers, and otherskilled equipment as directed. This position will be responsiblefor the proper care and storage of equipment.
This position has been designated as mandatory personnel for theUniversity and may be required to report to work during adverseweather conditions even though the University may be operating onan alternate schedule. This position may assist in the removal ofsnow, ice, or debris.
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to followinstructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work, or anequivalent combination of training and experience.
Valid NC Drivers' License or the ability to obtain within 30days.
