Job summary

TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc. is seeking a Grounds Technician at its Anderson, SC campus to support a large-scale distribution-manufacturing operation. The role focuses on turf, plant, and bed maintenance with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

You will operate common grounds equipment, follow written and verbal instructions, and assist with installations, seasonal tasks, and weather-related cleanups as part of the facilities team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• One year of groundskeeping experience.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Use of tools and motorized equipment is common in this role.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Turf maintenance: mowing, trimming, edging.
• Plant maintenance: shrub pruning, tree trimming, seasonal cut-back.
• Bed maintenance: weed pulling/spraying, mulch installation.
• Hardscape maintenance: debris removal from sidewalks, parking lots and roadways.
• Landscape installation projects including sod installation and planting.
• Inclement weather cleanup: storm debris removal, snow/ice prep.
• Equipment maintenance: changing batteries/blades, oil checks, cleaning equipment.
• Shop/truck maintenance: cleaning and organizing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Turf Maintenance- Mowing, Trimming, Edging
• Plant Maintenance- Shrub Pruning, Tree Trimming, Seasonal Cut-back
• Bed Maintenance- Weed Pulling/Spraying, Mulch Installation
• Hardscape Maintenance- Debris/Trash Removal from Sidewalks/Parking Lots/Roadways, etc.
• Landscape Installation Projects – Renovations including Sod Install, Planting, etc.
• Inclement Weather Maintenance- Storm Debris Removal, Snow/Ice Preparations/Clean-up
• Equipment Maintenance – Changing/Charging Batteries, Changing/Sharpening Blades, Checking/Plugging Tires, Assists in Changing Engine Oils/Fluids. Cleaning/Washing Equipment
• Shop/Truck Maintenance- Cleaning/Organizing equipment/tools, etc.
• Other: Occasionally aid the operations team as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED
• One year of operating on a crew of groundskeepers, landscape technicians, or equivalent is also necessary to meet minimum requirements
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions; ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
• The use of tools and motorized equipment is commonly used in this vocation
• The use of tractors, pickup trucks, and a variety of common grounds maintenance equipment
• Utilizing computers
• Must have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of South Carolina and possess an acceptable driving record.
• Principles, materials, and methods of grounds maintenance and repair
• Methods and techniques of grounds maintenance
• Safety and accident prevention practices
• Horticulture and landscape maintenance

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Repetitive motion.
• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders.
• Occasional lifting up to 50lbs – team lifts over 50lbs.
• Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
• Able to work in various temperature conditions.
