Job summary

GCR Inc. in Gulfport, MS seeks a Grounds Supervisor to oversee all grounds maintenance operations under contract requirements, lead crews, manage irrigation, and ensure plant and turf health with professional execution.

This role requires strong safety focus and the ability to coordinate with CORs and stakeholders. Applicants should have at least five years of field management experience in grounds operations, possess a valid driver's license, read and follow SOPs, and be able to work weekends

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of field management in commercial/industrial grounds maintenance within the last 10 years.
• Experience scheduling, supervising, and leading a grounds maintenance workforce.
• Experience in long-term landscape and plant health planning.
• Professional skill in turf maintenance, plant health treatment, soil management, and irrigation systems.
• Knowledge of fertilizer application, weed control, vegetation removal, and bedding requirements.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Real ID-compliant drivers license and ability to operate motor vehicles and light equipment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to pass a background investigation and physical examination.
• State Of MS Herbicide License

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily, weekly, and long-term grounds maintenance operations.
• Lead and manage grounds maintenance personnel, providing field leadership and setting daily work priorities.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs for all ground care activities.
• Inspect landscaped areas to identify deficiencies and ensure work quality meets contract standards.
• Maintain, inspect, and manage ground irrigation systems, ensuring full operability.
• Perform irrigation system start-up, winterization, diagnose deficiencies, and coordinate or execute repairs.
• Manage procurement, tracking, and inventory control of grounds maintenance supplies and materials.
• Serve as liaison with CORs and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical expertise and hands-on leadership during advanced landscaping tasks.
