Job summary

Government Contracting Resources, Inc. in Fallbrook, CA, is seeking a Grounds Maintenance/Laborer to perform a variety of outdoor upkeep tasks around buildings and grounds.

You will cut lawns, prune plants, install sod, manage debris, and assist with basic repairs as needed. Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least two years of commercial grounds maintenance experience, be a US citizen with a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background

• Two years within the past five years in commercial grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleanup, cutting, trimming, and edging of all grassed areas and lawns.
• Maintains flowers, shrubs, tree beds, and replacements as needed.
• Completes general leaf cleanup, tree pruning/removal, sod installation, seeding, fertilizing, liming, thatching, aerating, irrigation, erosion control, and back-filling.
• Washes and cleans vehicles and equipment; cleans grounds and other areas; uses hand-tools and power equipment.
• Performs minor repairs to ground structures and assists with weather-related services and emergency needs.
• Maintains tools and equipment; plans and organizes assignments effectively.
• Presents a professional, positive attitude with customers and coworkers.
• Maintains communication with management and customers.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleanup, cutting, trimming, and edging of all grassed areas and lawns.
• Performs maintenance of flowers, shrubs, tree beds, and replacement thereof.
• Completes general leaf clean-up, tree pruning, tree removal, sod installation, seeding, fertilizing, liming, thatching, aerating, irrigation, erosion, watering, and back-filling.
• Handles materials (e.g., loading, unloading, digging, hauling, hoisting, carrying, wrapping, mixing, pouring, spreading); washing and cleaning cars and trucks and department equipment; cleaning grounds, and other areas; and doing other general maintenance work, by hand or using common hand-tools and power equipment.
• Provides routine maintenance and minor repairs to such ground structures as improved and unimproved roads, parking areas, sidewalks, fences, retaining walls, storm drainage ditches, window wells, and catch basis; heavy weather services (snow removal); refuse collection and disposal, and provide services necessary to cope with emergencies such as those resulting from accidents, natural disasters, breakdown of equipment, floods in
• buildings from roof leaks, overflowed restroom fixtures, sinks, sprinkler systems, water pipes, and other utilities.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Maintains tools and equipment in good condition; plans and organizes assignments effectively.
• Presents a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customers, co-workers, and supervision.
• Maintains effective communication with management, employees, and customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities
