Job summary

Government Contracting Resources, Inc. in Gulfport, MS seeks a Grounds Supervisor to oversee all grounds maintenance operations on our contract site. You will lead, schedule, and supervise grounds personnel, manage irrigation systems, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires US citizenship, experience in turf health, and the ability to implement SOPs; you will liaise with CORs and coordinate with stakeholders daily.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in field management of commercial or industrial grounds maintenance operations
• Experience scheduling, supervising, and leading a grounds maintenance workforce
• Experience in long-term landscape and plant health planning
• Proficiency in turf maintenance, plant health treatment, soil management, tree maintenance, and irrigation systems
• Knowledge of fertilizer application, weed control, vegetation removal, and bedding requirements
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Real ID–compliant driver's license and ability to operate motor vehicles and light equipment
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass a background investigation and physical examination
• State Of MS Herbicide License

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily, weekly, and long-term grounds maintenance operations in accordance with contract requirements
• Lead and manage grounds maintenance personnel, providing field leadership and setting daily work priorities
• Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all ground care activities
• Inspect landscaped areas to identify deficiencies and ensure work quality meets contract standards
• Maintain, inspect, and manage ground irrigation systems, ensuring full operability
• Perform irrigation system start-up, winterization, diagnose deficiencies, and coordinate or execute repairs
• Manage procurement, tracking, and inventory control of grounds maintenance supplies and materials
• Serve as liaison with Government Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs) and other stakeholders
• Provide technical expertise and hands-on leadership during advanced landscaping tasks as required

Job Summary

The Grounds Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all grounds maintenance operations to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and high-quality landscaping standards. • Professional skill in turf maintenance, plant health treatment, soil management, tree maintenance, and irrigation systems.
