Job summary

Whitgift School in Croydon is seeking a proactive Groundsperson to maintain cricket pitches, hybrid surfaces, lawns and the wider estate, supporting events and school activities.

The role is permanent, full-time and year-round with a salary range of £31,751–£33,147 gross per year, depending on qualifications and experience, plus a generous benefits package. Closing date 26 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance or outdoor environment with practical skills
• Understanding of health and safety requirements
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible in supporting school activities
• Committed to high standards across grounds and facilities
• Relevant qualifications in sports turf, horticulture or grounds maintenance (certifications) would be advantageous
