Job summary

Brocket Hall is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Greenkeeper to join our Course Maintenance team. You will help maintain world-class playing conditions across greens, tees, fairways and bunkers at Brocket Hall, a prestigious golf and hospitality destination in the UK.

The role requires turf management qualifications, leadership skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. You will train junior staff, uphold safety and environmental standards, and engage with members

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a greenkeeper or similar role with turf management qualifications.
• Knowledge of turf management practices, safety regulations and equipment maintenance.
• Proactive problem-solving and task management abilities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for training staff.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Mow, aerate, fertilize and manage pests with safety guidelines.
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of greens, tees, fairways and bunkers.
• Contribute to annual maintenance plans and seasonal turf management.
• Maintain and repair equipment for optimal performance and safety.
• Inspect course to diagnose problems and implement fixes.
• Train and mentor junior staff and apprentices.
• Engage with members and guests about course conditions and upcoming work.
• Promote health, safety and environmental sustainability.

Our Course Maintenance team plays a pivotal role in delivering world-class playing conditions for our members and guests year-round.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Greenkeeper to join our team and help maintain the high standards that define Brocket Hall.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced landscaping tasks including mowing, aeration, fertilization, and pest management with adherence to safety guidelines.
• Oversee and participate in the day-to-day maintenance of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers.
• Assist in the formulation and execution of annual course maintenance plans, seasonal changes, and turf management practices.
• Maintain and repair maintenance equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Conduct inspections of the course to diagnose problems and implement corrective measures as necessary.
• Train and mentor junior staff and apprentices to enhance their skills and ensure effective course maintenance.
• Engage with members and guests to provide insights about course conditions and any upcoming maintenance activities.
• Promote and adhere to health and safety regulations and environmental sustainability practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a greenkeeper or in a similar role, with relevant qualifications in turf management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of turf management practices, health and safety regulations, and maintenance equipment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to effectively manage tasks.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills for training and mentoring team members.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to transport equipment as necessary.
