Job summary

Independent Management Services in Pontiac, MI is seeking a maintenance/grounds assistant to perform daily inspections, keep common areas clean, and support reconditioning of vacant units. The role covers year-round outdoor work and light maintenance tasks in a multifamily setting.

You will participate in ongoing training, adhere to Fair Housing regulations, and report to the Site Manager/ Maintenance Supervisor. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Capable of prioritizing tasks based on need.
• Reliable attendance and timely reporting to work.
• Basic knowledge of commercial/small grounds equipment and supplies.
• Knowledge of residential cleaning supplies and practices.
• Able to work year-round outdoors and indoors.
• Adherence to Federal Fair Housing Laws.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ongoing maintenance education and training.
• Conduct daily inspections of common areas, community, and grounds.
• Keep the property groomed and free of litter.
• Assist in reconditioning of vacant units including cleaning.
• Snow removal and salting of roads, walkways, parking areas.
• Perform light maintenance tasks or assist maintenance staff.
• Report directly to the Site Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor.
