Job summary

Independent Management Services, a full-service property management and marketing firm focused on revitalizing under-managed multifamily housing, is seeking a maintenance associate in Pontiac, MI. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits as part of a growing team.

You will perform daily inspections, maintain common areas, assist in reconditioning vacant units, snow removal, and support the Site Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize projects based on need.
• Reliable attendance and timely reporting.
• Knowledge of commercial/small grounds equipment and supplies.
• Attention to detail in residential cleaning practices.
• Comfort with year-round outdoor work.
• Compliance with Federal Fair Housing Laws.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ongoing maintenance education and training.
• Daily inspections of the common areas, community, and property grounds.
• Ensure the property is well-groomed and free of litter and unsightly garbage or clutter.
• Assist in reconditioning of vacant units including cleaning and removal of debris.
• Snow removal including salting of main roads, walkways, and parking areas throughout the community.
• Light maintenance tasks and/or assist maintenance staff to the extent necessary.
• Reports directly to the Site Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor.
