Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required or equivalent.
• Custodial or grounds keeping experience related to the job area.
• Valid South Carolina driver's license required.
• Must pass background check and drug testing for access to the military base.
• Ability to work shifts or extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds keeping duties for a 2400-acre complex, including mowing, raking leaves and landscaping to maintain appearance.
• Trim, fell and dispose of shrubbery and trees; assist with fire breaks for environmental needs and control burns.
• Maintain outfall culverts and inspections with landscaping equipment; use hand tools for small engine repair and other base equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment for perimeter road maintenance and install traffic signs and pavement markings.
• Conduct concrete/asphalt maintenance on sidewalks, roads, runways, and taxiways; assist in minor construction projects and fence/perimeter road upkeep.
