Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is seeking a grounds equipment mechanic to maintain and repair all grounds department machinery, including lawn mowers, tractors, and diesel equipment. The role requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to obtain parts for various models.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a Texas driver’s license, and at least five years in lawn or small engine repair. Tools provided by the candidate are required.

Responsibilities

• Turn around on work orders quickly.
• Repair all diesel equipment and tractor implements.
• Keep accurate inventory of parts for equipment.
• Keep Foreman/Supervisor advised on equipment condition.

Job description

Primary Purpose

To maintain and make needed repairs on all grounds department equipment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

• High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Current valid Texas Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas school Bus Driver’s requirements.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in lawn maintenance, automotive or small engine repair, and diesel engine repair.
• Must have own mechanic tools.

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Able to do repairs on all types of lawn equipment. (Ex: linetrimmers, blowers, edgers, ZTR’s, walk behind mowers, etc…)
• Excellent trouble shooting skills with gasoline small engines and diesel engines.
• Experience in hydraulics, clutches, injectors, and tractor implements.
• Be able procure parts for various models and makes of equipment.
• Able to communicate effectively with Foreman and Supervisor

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

Essential Functions
