March 30, 2026 to August 23, 2026; April 27, 2026 to August 23, 2026; and June 23, 2026 to August 23, 2026

What Can I Expect to Do in This Role?

You Will:

  • Provide manual labour for the Horticulture, Landscaping, Forestry and Roads Department of the Grounds Maintenance section.
  • Rake and level ground and assist in seeding and sodding newly graded areas.
  • Help with the preparation of flowerbeds, seasonal planting and transplanting of annuals and shrubs.
  • Prune trees and shrubs, mow and trim grass around trees and floral beds.
  • Assist with brush removal.
  • Assist with tent installations for special events.
  • Help with the installation of new posts and road signs, moving curbs, and painting guardrails and bridges.
  • Work safely at all times and report unsafe activities immediately to your supervisor.

How Do I Qualify?

You Have:

  • The mechanical aptitude to perform a variety of mechanical tasks, including the use of hand and power tools and equipment related to the job, such as shovels, rakes, lawn mowers, string trimmers, etc., in accordance with the safety procedures of the Commission.
  • The physical ability to lift, carry, hold, bend and stoop, as well as load and unload materials and equipment.
  • The ability to work as an effective team member and to carry out basic oral and written instructions.
  • Communication and customer service skills to interact with staff and the public.
  • The ability to learn all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal, visitor and fellow staff safety is maintained at all times.
  • A valid driver's licence may be required.

À quoi puis-je m’attendre à ce poste?

Vous devrez :

  • Faire des travaux manuels pour l’équipe de l’horticulture, de l’aménagement paysager, de la foresterie et de la voirie au sein du service d’entretien des terrains.
  • Ratisser et niveler le sol, et aider à l’ensemencement et à l’engazonnement des zones nouvellement aménagées.
  • Aider à la préparation des plates‑bandes, à la plantation saisonnière et à la transplantation des plantes annuelles et des arbustes.
  • Tailler des arbres et des arbustes, tondre et tailler de l’herbe autour des arbres et des massifs floraux.
  • Aider au débroussaillage.
  • Aider à l’installation de tentes lors d’événements spéciaux.
  • Aider à l’installation de nouveaux poteaux et panneaux de signalisation, au déplacement de bordures et à la peinture de glissières de sécurité et de ponts.
  • Travailler de façon sécuritaire en tout temps et signaler immédiatement les situations dangereuses aux superviseurs.
  • Agir conformément aux principes d’équité, de diversité et d’inclusion de la CPSL lors des échanges avec le personnel et la clientèle.

  • L’aptitude requise pour effectuer diverses tâches mécaniques, y compris l’utilisation d’outils manuels et électriques et d’équipement lié au travail, comme des pelles, des râteaux, des tondeuses à gazon, des désherbeurs, etc., conformément aux procédures de sécurité de la CPSL.
  • La capacité physique de soulever, de transporter, de tenir, de vous pencher et de vous baisser, ainsi que de charger et de décharger du matériel et de l’équipement.
  • La capacité de travailler en équipe et de suivre des directives orales et écrites de base.
