Montgomery-Public-Schools in Florence, AL seeks a Grounds Maintenance - Trade Helper (Part-Time/Seasonal) from April through September to help maintain school grounds.

Reports to Maintenance Coordinator; duties include mowing, edging, trimming, debris removal, basic landscaping, and support to painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC as assigned. Must have a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license, and be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Proficient and knowledgeable in understanding and completing various maintenance tasks.
• Grounds Maintenance to include mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, leaf removal, debris pickup, pressure washing, and basic landscaping duties as assigned by Maintenance Coordinator
• Building Maintenance to include duties as a trade helper in support of painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.
• Equipment maintenance including basic preventative maintenance: preshift/postshift inspection, blade changes, cleaning, lubrication, etc.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator or Assistant Superintendent of Operations

JOB GOAL

To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Proficient and knowledgeable in understanding and completing various maintenance tasks.
• 2. Grounds Maintenance to include, but not limited to: mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, leaf removal, debris pickup, pressure washing, and basic landscaping duties as assigned by Maintenance Coordinator
• 3. Building Maintenance to include but not limited to those duties as a trade helper, in support of painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc…
• 4. Equipment maintenance basic preventative maintenance for equipment, to include but not limited to: Preshift/Postshift inspection, blade change, cleaning, lubrication, etc

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
