Job summary

City of Cocoa Beach is seeking a full-time Grounds Maintenance worker to assist in upkeep and landscaping of city grounds and facilities. Starting wage is $18.07/hour with excellent benefits including paid time off, holidays, pension, and city-paid health and dental coverage.

Under supervision, you will operate a variety of lawn and landscape equipment, perform routine repairs, and assist with event setup. Requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years in grounds maintenance, or equivalent

Qualifications

Graduation from high school, and 1–2 years experience in grounds maintenance.
Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

Mow and trim grass and shrubbery, edging, spraying herbicides and pesticides, and spreading grass seed and fertilizer.
Polices areas to remove debris and litter.
Prepares and maintains grounds and facilities; grading and general landscaping on City property.
Maintains and repairs fences; replaces damaged portions and installs new sections and gates.
Assist in maintenance and construction of equipment and facilities such as shelters and other structures.
Assist supervisor with maintenance and repair of equipment; routine equipment maintenance.
