Job summary

PRIDE Industries in Texas seeks a Grounds Maintenance Laborer to maintain lawns, roads, and parking areas at assigned facilities. Under close supervision, duties include mowing, edging, trimming, trash removal, and basic irrigation checks to keep grounds safe and presentable.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate common landscaping tools with attention to safety.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in grounds maintenance or equivalent knowledge.
• Proper use of PPE and safety practices on site.
• Ability to identify and use manual and power tools safely.
• Ability to track materials and time, and adapt to priorities.
• Flexibility to changing schedules and tasks, with teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Mow lawns with walking or riding mowers; aerate and dethatch as needed.
• Weed control and maintenance of flower beds and edging.
• Blow, sweep, and pick up debris to keep grounds neat.
• Trim hedges, shrubs; edge walkways and beds for neat appearance.
• Prune shrubs/trees; use appropriate pruning tools.
• Monitor equipment and report malfunctions.
• Travel between facilities as required.
• Assist with irrigation checks and maintenance.
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides as trained.
• Operate company vehicles as needed (pickup/ small truck).
• Complete basic paperwork and material/time calculations.
• Perform other duties including snow removal and repairs as assigned.
