Job summary

Crested Butte Mountain Resort is hiring an Experienced Equipment Operator for Summer Seasonal 2026 in Crested Butte, CO. The role involves operating equipment for street and facility maintenance, with part-time hours and housing available.

Starting pay ranges from $20.00–$23.00 per hour. Applicants must have 1 year of heavy equipment experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, an English fluency, and a valid CDL/Class A or B license. CDL and clean driving record required.

Qualifications

  • At least 1-year heavy equipment experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • CDL Class A or B is required for this position.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in alpine conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment used by the Mt. Ops team.
  • Monitor equipment and address issues promptly with Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Perform physical labor as part of mountain operations.
  • Maintain signs and perform general maintenance tasks.
  • Take direction and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and assist with repairs.

The Experienced Equipment Operator will operate a variety of equipment, trucks and tractors for the purpose of street and utility repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate all equipment used by the Mt. Ops team
  • Monitor all equipment and make sure that all issues are addressed promptly and communicated with Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Physical Labor will be required due to the broad scope of the jobs that will be done for the resort. Responsible for all aspects of Mountain operations.
  • Maintenance of signs and repairs and general maintenance.
  • Able to take directions and work as part of a team
  • Accurately troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • At least 1-year heavy equipment experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Class A or B CDL License is required for this position
  • Able to lift & carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work extended hours outdoors in an alpine environment

The expected pay range is $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
